When I served as a Principle IC Design Engineer at Broadcom, I defined and executed product roadmaps balancing customer timelines, development resources and strategic growth initiates. I was also the key technical communicator, to various stakeholders : VPs, managers and end customers.
As a fresh college graduate, these responsibilities were just handed over to me from the head of the SerDes Division and my manager. I figure them out and excelled with the new responsibilities.
Having seen the value of these skills, I sought out ways to obtain these skills formally so that the next time I was put in this position I could know what I was doing and how these skills fit into the larger picture. This led me to find the field of Product Management and obtaining certifications from Product School.

It provided me with the practical frameworks and tools required to lead product teams, manage cross-functional collaboration, and build innovative, user-centric products while providing me with a a comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle—from ideation and market research to launch, optimization, and growth strategies.
